Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to specimen collection.
- Label, process, and transport blood specimens according to established lab protocols.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and safe phlebotomy workspace.
- Communicate effectively with patients, nurses, and laboratory staff to resolve issues.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from the AHA.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical or laboratory setting is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
