Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with high accuracy and minimal discomfort.
- Verify patient information and ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols and HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare and label blood samples correctly for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized phlebotomy workstation and equipment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and alleviate anxiety.
- Assist in inventory management of supplies and report any equipment malfunctions to management.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Willingness to complete a comprehensive paid training program (Certification not required prior to hire).
- Strong attention to detail and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use electronic health records (EHR).
- Must be reliable, punctual, and possess a professional demeanor.
