Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Maintain strict adherence to OSHA safety protocols and infection control standards.
- Label, process, and store blood specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and explain procedures.
- Document all procedures and patient interactions accurately in the EMR system.
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies and equipment.
Qualifications
- Current Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent.
- Valid Ohio State Phlebotomy license (or willingness to obtain).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification preferred.
- Previous experience in a clinical or hospital setting is a plus.
