As a Phlebotomist, you will play a vital role in patient care by collecting blood samples for testing, donation, or research. Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and with minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identity and medical history prior to all blood collections.
- Label, log, and transport specimens to the laboratory accurately to ensure test integrity.
- Maintain strict adherence to infection control protocols, OSHA safety standards, and HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with patient intake, explain procedures clearly, and answer questions to ensure patient confidence.
- Maintain a clean, organized work area and manage phlebotomy inventory levels.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy certification (CPT, CPT-I, or equivalent) required.
- Active state license as a Phlebotomist.
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Basic computer literacy for electronic health records (EHR) entry.
- CPR certification (BLS) is a plus but not mandatory.
