Responsibilities
- Perform routine venipunctures and capillary blood draws on pediatric and adult patients.
- Verify patient identity and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and cooperation.
- Properly label, process, and store blood specimens according to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment adhering to OSHA and HIPAA standards.
- Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent national certification.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical setting preferred, but entry-level candidates with strong externship experience considered.
- Excellent manual dexterity and ability to perform under pressure.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a patient-first attitude.
