Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures
- Process and label specimens following HIPAA compliance standards
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Provide exceptional patient care with comfort-focused techniques
- Document all procedures in electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to OSHA and CLIA regulations for blood-borne pathogens
Qualifications
- Current Indiana Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficiency in EHR documentation systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Attention to detail with specimen handling protocols
- High school diploma or equivalent required
