Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens accurately while maintaining chain of custody
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment per safety protocols
- Provide exceptional patient education during specimen collection
- Collaborate with laboratory and clinical teams for seamless workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
- Document procedures and maintain electronic health records
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- 1+ years clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Excellent venipuncture skills on diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and specimen handling expertise
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Compassionate communication with pediatric to geriatric patients
- Basic computer proficiency for lab systems
