Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary punctures to collect blood samples efficiently and accurately
- Ensure proper specimen handling, labeling, and processing following strict protocols
- Maintain a sterile, organized workspace and equipment calibration
- Provide patient education on procedures and address concerns with empathy
- Collaborate with laboratory staff and healthcare providers for seamless care coordination
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and maintain strict patient confidentiality
- Document procedures and maintain detailed patient records
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills with diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Basic computer proficiency for medical record systems
