Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to HIPAA and laboratory protocols
- Maintain sterile equipment and infection control standards
- Provide patient education and reassurance during procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure accurate sample collection
- Document all procedures electronically with meticulous attention to detail
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent required
