Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections for patients of all ages
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and OSHA standards
- Verify patient identity and maintain proper documentation protocols
- Operate automated laboratory equipment and point-of-care testing devices
- Provide exceptional patient care during high-volume collection periods
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure timely sample processing
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification (PTCB or ASCP preferred)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Excellent venipuncture skills with minimal discomfort to patients
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA compliance and infection control procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Basic computer proficiency for electronic health records
- Valid CPR certification
