Responsibilities
- Accurately process and submit medical claims to insurance companies and government payers
- Verify patient eligibility and benefits coverage before service delivery
- Resolve claim denials and rejections through effective follow-up and appeals
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and billing compliance standards
- Generate monthly reports on billing performance and accounts receivable
- Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure accurate documentation and coding
- Utilize Epic and NextGen EHR systems for claim submission and tracking
Qualifications
- 3+ years of medical billing experience with commercial and government payers
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification required
- Expert knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding systems
- Proficiency in medical billing software (Epic, NextGen, or similar)
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills for patient and payer interactions
- Experience with denial management and appeals processes
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
