Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Maintain accurate patient records and electronic documentation systems
- Operate and calibrate laboratory equipment including analyzers and centrifuges
- Collaborate with medical staff to ensure seamless patient flow and testing protocols
- Implement strict infection control procedures and safety protocols
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in hospital or lab setting
- BLS/CPR certification from American Heart Association
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing workflows
- Exceptional interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Strong attention to detail and quality assurance standards
- Background check and pre-employment drug screening required
