Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate electronic health records
- Prepare laboratory equipment and maintain sterile work environments
- Provide compassionate patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure timely specimen processing
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA regulations
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- CPR/BLS certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Attention to detail with high accuracy in documentation
- Valid Ohio driver's license (if required for travel between sites)
