Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and handle specimens according to clinical laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Ensure proper specimen labeling, storage, and transportation
- Calibrate and maintain phlebotomy equipment
- Provide patient education and reassurance during procedures
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize patient flow and efficiency
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid Massachusetts healthcare professional license
- Proven ability to maintain specimen integrity and chain of custody
- Exceptional interpersonal skills for diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and electronic documentation
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environments
- Basic knowledge of OSHA bloodborne pathogen standards
