Responsibilities
- Submit clean claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding accounts
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits prior to service
- Appeal denied claims with supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and billing regulations
- Resolve patient billing inquiries with empathy and accuracy
- Analyze denial trends and recommend process improvements
- Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure coding accuracy
Qualifications
- 2+ years of medical billing experience in a healthcare setting
- Certified Professional Biller (CPB) or CPC certification preferred
- Proficiency in Epic or similar EPM/billing systems
- Strong knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to maintain 95%+ clean claim submission rate
- Experience with Medicare/Medicaid billing requirements
