Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision
- Process and handle specimens according to CLIA and HIPAA standards
- Verify patient identity and prepare lab requisitions
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records
- Ensure proper specimen labeling and storage protocols
- Provide patient education during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with nursing and laboratory teams
Qualifications
- Current NYS Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a hospital/laboratory setting
- BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR)
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
