Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures with precision and patient comfort
- Process and label specimens according to CLIA and OSHA regulations
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in EMR systems
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment (analyzers, centrifuges, etc.)
- Ensure proper specimen handling, storage, and transportation protocols
- Provide patient education on pre-test preparation procedures
- Collaborate with nursing and lab teams to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Current North Carolina Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience preferred
- BLS/CPR certification from AHA or equivalent
- Proficiency in specimen processing and lab safety protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
- High school diploma or equivalent required
