Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collections with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to strict laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
- Ensure proper specimen handling and transportation to testing facilities
- Adhere to OSHA and CLIA compliance standards for infection control
- Provide patient education regarding procedures and aftercare
- Collaborate with clinical teams to optimize workflow efficiency
Qualifications
- Current New Mexico Phlebotomy Technician certification required
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification from recognized provider
- Proficient in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong understanding of HIPAA and patient privacy regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced healthcare environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required
