Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and accurately.
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing and ensure proper specimen handling and labeling.
- Greet patients, explain procedures, and answer questions to minimize anxiety and ensure compliance.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with OSHA and HIPAA regulations.
- Accurately log patient information and test results into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and laboratory staff to ensure seamless patient care.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or completion of an accredited Phlebotomy program.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- 1-2 years of experience in a clinical or outpatient setting preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient empathy.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs as needed.
