Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures adhering to strict protocols
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records systems
- Ensure proper handling and storage of biohazardous materials
- Provide patient education and support during blood draw procedures
- Collaborate with nursing staff to coordinate patient flow and testing schedules
- Perform quality control checks and equipment maintenance
- Uphold HIPAA compliance and infection control standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid BLS/CPR certification
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and specimen processing
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
