Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specialized blood collection techniques
- Process and handle specimens with strict adherence to HIPAA compliance
- Verify patient identity and prepare samples for laboratory testing
- Maintain accurate documentation using electronic health records systems
- Ensure sterile equipment and proper infection control protocols
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NHA, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year recent clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Proficiency in venipuncture and capillary puncture techniques
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and CLIA regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills with diverse patient populations
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer skills for documentation systems
- Valid Nebraska state healthcare worker certification
