Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages.
- Verify patient identity and ensure strict adherence to HIPAA privacy regulations.
- Maintain and sterilize all phlebotomy equipment to ensure infection control standards.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and correct specimen processing.
- Handle patient inquiries with empathy and provide exceptional customer service.
- Manage inventory of supplies and restock as needed.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent required.
- Valid Indiana State Phlebotomy license.
- High School Diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
