As our Triage Nurse, you will serve as the first line of defense in our patient care continuum, ensuring rapid assessment and appropriate medical guidance.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments: Utilize evidence-based protocols to evaluate symptoms and determine appropriate care pathways.
- Provide clinical guidance: Offer clear, concise medical advice and triage instructions to patients over the phone or video.
- Document interactions: Maintain accurate, detailed electronic health records (EHR) for all patient encounters in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with Providers: Communicate complex cases effectively to physicians and care teams to facilitate seamless transitions.
- Manage referrals: Direct patients to the appropriate level of care, including emergency services, when necessary.
- Stay current: Continuously update clinical knowledge on common medical conditions and treatment guidelines.
Qualifications
- Valid RN License: Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Florida.
- Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in triage, emergency nursing, or acute care.
- Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) required; CEN or CTRN preferred.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex medical concepts to laypeople.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable navigating EMR/EHR systems and telehealth software.
- Decision Making: Ability to make quick, critical clinical decisions under pressure.
