Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following HIPAA and OSHA guidelines
- Process and label specimens with meticulous attention to detail
- Provide exceptional patient care during blood draws, including pediatric and geriatric populations
- Maintain precise documentation in electronic health records systems
- Prepare and maintain phlebotomy equipment and sterile environments
- Collaborate with clinical team to ensure efficient workflow
- Adhere to infection control protocols and quality assurance standards
Qualifications
- Current Alaska Phlebotomy Technician certification or national equivalent (ASCP, NHA)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in a medical setting
- BLS/CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency in electronic medical records and specimen processing
