Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection with precision and patient comfort
- Verify patient identification and maintain accurate specimen labeling protocols
- Process and transport specimens following CLIA and HIPAA compliance standards
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Document procedures and maintain electronic health records accurately
- Collaborate with lab staff and physicians to ensure timely testing workflows
Qualifications
- Current Texas Phlebotomy Technician certification or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year clinical phlebotomy experience
- BLS/CPR certification required
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques for diverse patient populations
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and infection control protocols
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
