As a Triage Nurse, you will utilize your clinical acumen to assess patient symptoms, triage urgency, and recommend the most appropriate care pathways. This position combines the technical demands of modern telehealth with the rewarding aspect of direct patient advocacy.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive phone and video-based patient assessments to evaluate symptoms and determine appropriate levels of care.
- Document all patient interactions and medical recommendations accurately within the EMR system (Epic/Cerner).
- Provide clear, empathetic, and evidence-based medical advice to patients and caregivers regarding home care and next steps.
- Make timely and accurate referrals to urgent care centers, specialists, or emergency services as required.
- Maintain a high level of patient satisfaction by delivering professional and courteous service during high-volume call periods.
- Adhere to all state and federal healthcare regulations, including HIPAA compliance and clinical protocols.
Qualifications
- Current and active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California (or compact state eligibility).
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in emergency nursing, urgent care, or call center triage.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) and ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certifications are mandatory.
- Strong critical thinking and decision-making skills, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to explain complex medical concepts to patients of all backgrounds.
- Proficient in using computer systems, EMR software, and remote triage platforms.
