Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and microcollection procedures with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process, label, and transport specimens according to HIPAA and CLIA regulations
- Maintain sterile environments and infection control protocols during all procedures
- Provide compassionate patient education and support throughout collection processes
- Utilize LIS systems for accurate specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab and clinical teams to ensure timely specimen processing
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives and continuous improvement programs
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and pediatric collections
- Strong understanding of OSHA safety protocols and specimen handling
- Exceptional communication skills and ability to work with diverse patient populations
- Basic computer literacy with experience in laboratory information systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks
- Must pass background check and pre-employment health screening
