Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture, capillary puncture, and microcollection procedures following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens for laboratory testing with meticulous attention to detail
- Maintain sterile techniques and ensure proper handling of biohazardous materials
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate documentation in electronic health records
- Provide exceptional patient care with empathy and clear communication during blood draws
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure efficient specimen processing and workflow
- Adhere to HIPAA regulations and facility-specific safety standards
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of hands-on phlebotomy experience in a clinical setting
- Valid CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency in specimen processing and laboratory information systems
- Excellent venipuncture skills for diverse patient populations
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Must pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
