Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages.
- Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and laboratory safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label and log all specimens.
- Manage phlebotomy supplies and equipment to ensure a sterile work environment.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort.
- Collaborate with laboratory technologists and nursing staff to ensure test accuracy.
Qualifications
- Current Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification (ASCP, NPA, or equivalent).
- Active Indiana Phlebotomy License.
- Minimum 1 year of recent clinical phlebotomy experience.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
- Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
