Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and ensure strict adherence to specimen labeling and chain-of-custody protocols.
- Utilize electronic health records (EHR) to document collection data accurately.
- Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, infection control standards, and HIPAA compliance policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients of all ages, explaining procedures clearly.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, including proper disposal of biohazardous waste.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab managers to optimize patient flow and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification.
- Valid Arizona State Phlebotomy License (if applicable to state regulations).
- Proven experience with venous and capillary draws in a clinical setting.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent manual dexterity.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- High school diploma or GED is required.
