Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient safety as the top priority.
- Verify patient identity and accurately label and process all specimens according to laboratory standards.
- Maintain strict adherence to all health and safety protocols, including infection control and OSHA regulations.
- Educate patients on procedures to ensure comfort and reduce anxiety during the collection process.
- Manage patient medical records and ensure specimen logs are up to date and organized.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results.
- Assist with the maintenance and calibration of phlebotomy equipment.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Diploma required.
- 1-2 years of clinical experience preferred, but entry-level candidates with internships will be considered.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
