Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws efficiently and accurately.
- Ensure proper patient identification and verify consent forms prior to collection.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety protocols and infection control standards (OSHA, HIPAA).
- Prepare blood samples for laboratory testing and manage patient records with precision.
- Communicate effectively with patients to alleviate anxiety during procedures.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely turnaround of test results.
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician Certification (or equivalent).
- New York State licensure or eligibility for licensure.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
