Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection procedures following strict safety protocols
- Prepare, label, and transport specimens accurately to laboratory facilities
- Maintain clean and organized workstations with proper infection control measures
- Verify patient identity and provide clear instructions before procedures
- Document collection activities accurately in electronic health records (EHR)
- Assist with inventory management of phlebotomy supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- No prior phlebotomy experience necessary – we provide full training!
- Valid NJ Phlebotomy Technician certification (will be obtained during training)
- Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Must pass background check and drug screening
