Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages and demographics.
- Accurately label, process, and store blood specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Greet patients warmly, explain procedures to alleviate anxiety, and ensure patient comfort.
- Maintain strict compliance with OSHA safety standards, infection control protocols, and HIPAA regulations.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to any blood collection.
- Manage inventory of supplies, including needles, tubes, and tourniquets.
- Document patient information accurately into the electronic health record (EHR) system.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Previous phlebotomy experience is not required (training provided).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and documentation.
- Clean criminal background check required.
- Reliable transportation is preferred.
