Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and patience.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols, aseptic techniques, and infection control standards.
- Explain procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure comfort during the draw process.
- Label, log, and prepare blood samples for transport to the laboratory for analysis.
- Maintain accurate patient records and ensure all documentation is completed in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist in the daily operations of the phlebotomy department and inventory management of supplies.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; completion of a formal phlebotomy training program is a plus.
- Willingness to participate in our comprehensive paid training program to obtain certification.
- Strong attention to detail and high dexterity required for blood collection.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- CPR/BLS certification preferred or ability to obtain upon hire.
