Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws with precision and patient comfort in mind.
- Verify patient identity and medical information prior to specimen collection.
- Accurately label, process, and transport blood specimens to the laboratory.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards.
- Assist with patient intake, vitals monitoring, and administrative tasks as needed.
- Ensure phlebotomy equipment is sanitized and in proper working order.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Associate degree or certificate in Phlebotomy, Medical Assisting, or related field preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
