Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with a high degree of accuracy and patient comfort.
- Label, process, and prepare blood specimens for laboratory analysis according to strict protocols.
- Greet patients, verify identity, and explain procedures to ensure a positive patient experience.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and supplies to ensure readiness for daily operations.
- Accurately record patient information and specimen data in electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Specialist certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient care.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic medical record systems.
