Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Label, process, and store blood specimens according to strict laboratory protocols.
- Demonstrate exceptional patient interaction skills, explaining procedures clearly and calming nervous patients.
- Verify patient information and ensure accuracy in all documentation and test requisitions.
- Adhere to all OSHA and HIPAA safety regulations and infection control policies.
- Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and lab staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
Qualifications
- Active Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) certification (ASCP or equivalent).
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
- Strong manual dexterity and physical stamina for long periods of standing.
- Excellent communication skills and a professional demeanor.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
