Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and minimal patient discomfort
- Process and label specimens according to laboratory protocols
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in electronic health systems
- Ensure all equipment is sterilized and calibrated per safety standards
- Provide exceptional patient care while explaining procedures clearly
- Collaborate with nursing staff to optimize patient flow and efficiency
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and infection control guidelines
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year of clinical experience in a hospital or lab setting
- Valid CPR certification
- Strong venipuncture skills with proven ability to access difficult veins
- Proficiency in LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Ohio state phlebotomy license (if applicable)
