Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipuncture and capillary blood collections following strict protocols
- Process and label specimens ensuring chain of integrity
- Provide exceptional patient care with emphasis on comfort and communication
- Maintain sterile work environments and adhere to OSHA standards
- Utilize LIS systems for accurate specimen tracking and documentation
- Collaborate with lab teams to ensure timely processing of samples
- Participate in continuous training for phlebotomy best practices
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, AMT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- Valid CPR/BLS certification
- Strong knowledge of venipuncture techniques and specimen handling
- Excellent interpersonal skills and patient rapport abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced medical environments
- Proficient with electronic health record systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
