Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Process and label blood specimens accurately for laboratory testing
- Maintain sterile techniques and ensure patient comfort during procedures
- Verify patient identity and prepare lab requisitions with precision
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment including centrifuges and analyzers
- Adhere to HIPAA compliance and OSHA safety standards
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient workflow
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Valid CPR certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Excellent venipuncture skills with experience in diverse patient populations
- Proficiency in LIS/HIS systems and specimen processing protocols
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to patient safety
- Ability to work efficiently in high-volume settings
- Must pass background check and drug screening
