Responsibilities
- Perform venipunctures and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and minimal discomfort.
- Verify patient identities and ensure all medical forms are accurately completed and signed.
- Maintain a clean, sterile, and organized phlebotomy station in compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations.
- Label, transport, and process blood samples for laboratory analysis promptly.
- Assist nurses and physicians with patient intake and basic health screenings.
- Handle sensitive patient information with strict adherence to HIPAA privacy standards.
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or Phlebotomy Certification (ASPT, NHA, NCCT, etc.) required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of 6 months of recent clinical phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.
