Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws with precision and care
- Process and label specimens according to strict protocols
- Ensure patient comfort during procedures while maintaining HIPAA compliance
- Operate and maintain phlebotomy equipment and lab supplies
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to deliver seamless patient experiences
- Document all procedures accurately in electronic health records
- Uphold OSHA safety standards and infection control protocols
Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Technician certification (ASCP, NCCT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 6 months of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to calm anxious patients
- Proficiency in specimen processing and handling
- Valid CPR certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs
- Ohio state phlebotomy license (or ability to obtain immediately)
