As a key member of our laboratory team, you will play a critical role in patient diagnosis and treatment. We are looking for someone who combines technical expertise with a warm, patient-centric approach to ensure every client feels comfortable and safe.
Responsibilities
- Perform accurate venipunctures and capillary blood draws using aseptic techniques.
- Label, process, and prepare blood samples for laboratory analysis efficiently.
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and verify patient identity prior to procedures.
- Educate patients on the blood collection process to minimize anxiety and ensure compliance.
- Maintain a sterile environment by properly sanitizing equipment and workspaces.
- Manage inventory of supplies and report equipment malfunctions to the supervisor immediately.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure seamless patient flow and care.
Qualifications
- Current, valid Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) required.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 1 year of professional phlebotomy experience preferred.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients of all backgrounds.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Proficient in computer systems for electronic health record (EHR) entry.
