Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood draws on patients of all ages with precision and care.
- Verify patient identity and prepare specimens accurately for laboratory analysis.
- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and safety protocols at all times.
- Assist with patient intake, explain procedures to reduce anxiety, and ensure a comfortable experience.
- Manage inventory of supplies and ensure phlebotomy stations are stocked and sanitized.
- Collaborate with nurses and physicians to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Document patient data accurately into electronic medical records (EMR).
Qualifications
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) or equivalent certification required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, but we offer training for new graduates.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift patients or equipment as needed.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are preferred.
