Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture, capillary draws, and specimen collection following strict protocols
- Ensure accurate patient identification and sample labeling
- Maintain sterile equipment and workstations per OSHA standards
- Process and transport specimens to the lab with chain-of-custody integrity
- Provide patient education and comfort during procedures
- Document all procedures in electronic health records
- Collaborate with clinical team to optimize patient flow
Qualifications
- Current California Phlebotomy Technician certification (CPT)
- Minimum 1 year clinical experience in phlebotomy
- BLS/CPR certification
- Excellent venipuncture skills with low complication rate
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced environment
- Compassionate communication with diverse patient populations
- Proficient in LIS/EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
