Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning based on specific dietary restrictions.
- Provide medication reminders and assist with medication administration as directed by a nurse.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as laundry, vacuuming, and bed making to ensure a safe environment.
- Accompany clients to medical appointments, social events, or for errands as needed.
- Monitor clients' physical and emotional well-being and report any changes or concerns to the care coordinator.
- Offer companionship and engage in conversation to reduce feelings of isolation.
Qualifications
- Valid North Carolina CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) or HHA (Home Health Aide) license preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- CPR and Basic First Aid certification is a plus but not mandatory.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy.
- Ability to safely lift and transfer clients (up to 50 lbs) when necessary.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
- Compassionate, patient, and trustworthy character with a positive attitude.
