Responsibilities
- Chair-Side Assisting: Provide four-handed dentistry support, manage handpieces, and assist the dentist with precision and efficiency.
- Radiography: Take and develop high-quality digital and traditional dental X-rays and intraoral photographs.
- Infection Control: Strictly adhere to OSHA and CDC guidelines for sterilization, disinfection, and cross-contamination prevention.
- Patient Education: Explain dental procedures, post-operative care instructions, and oral hygiene techniques to patients in a clear, friendly manner.
- Preparation: Prepare treatment rooms, instruments, and materials prior to patient appointments.
- Administrative Support: Manage patient records, update charts accurately, and assist with insurance verification and billing.
Qualifications
- Certification: Current Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) or Dental Assistant (DA) license in the state of New Mexico.
- Emergency Care: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR certification from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with dental software (e.g., Eaglesoft, Dentrix) and dental equipment.
- Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues of all backgrounds.
- Physical Demands: Ability to stand for extended periods and perform fine motor skills.
- Attitude: A positive, patient-first attitude with a commitment to clinical excellence.
