Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care according to hospital protocols and nursing standards.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments and monitor vital signs to detect changes in patient condition.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Educate patients and families on disease processes, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations and critical care needs within the unit.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and electronic health records (EHR).
Qualifications
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of New York.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of recent experience in a hospital or clinical setting (Med-Surg, ICU, or Telemetry preferred).
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to think critically and make sound clinical decisions under pressure.
- Ability to lift, stand, and walk for extended periods as required by patient care duties.
- Reliable transportation to various healthcare facilities across the region.
