Responsibilities
- Patient Assessment & Care: Conduct thorough patient assessments, develop individualized care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing interventions to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Medication Administration: Safely administer medications and treatments as prescribed, while strictly adhering to hospital protocols and safety guidelines.
- Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with physicians, pharmacists, therapists, and other healthcare team members to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records (EHR) documenting patient progress, changes in condition, and care provided.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families on disease prevention, medication management, and post-discharge care instructions to promote long-term health.
- Emergency Response: Respond promptly to medical emergencies and code blue situations, demonstrating critical thinking and rapid decision-making skills.
Qualifications
- Education: Must possess an active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Virginia.
- Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of clinical experience in a hospital setting preferred. New graduates with excellent clinical rotations will be considered.
- Skills: Strong clinical assessment skills, proficiency in electronic medical records, and excellent communication abilities.
- License: Must hold a valid RN license issued by the Virginia Board of Nursing.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and respond quickly to patient needs.
